Ready to Start Singing Karaoke? Follow this Tune!
Karaoke music isn't just for the talented. In fact, sometimes it's the people who can't sing, who are less talented, that have more fun. The secret lies in choosing the right karaoke songs, your 'Juhachiban' as the Japanese say, or your signature song. Something people will tap their toes and sing along with you.
Like anything else you'll feel better if you practice with some free karaoke music before you head out to the bar, club or party. If you know someone with a karaoke machine that's great, you can practice on that. If not, it's easy enough to find karaoke music online. Practice until you know the song by heart, until you know when to pause and when to sing from the bottom of your heart and at the top of your lungs.
Be mindful of where you are singing. If you're at a bar then most likely anything goes, however, if you are at a church social you may want to stick to Christian karaoke music or at the very least something that's not offensive. On the other hand, if you're singing punk rock karaoke, being offensive might be just what people are looking for.
If you find you love singing karaoke you may want to keep the party going at your house. Luckily, this is very easy to do. Karaoke machines and CDG's are a lot cheaper than they once were. If you aren't planning on entertaining but just want to do it yourself you may even consider using karaoke software and karaoke downloads.
Karaoke is about having fun. There is nothing that will kill a performance faster than a singer who is up on stage feeling sorry for him or herself. If you cringe and wince, the audience will be right there with you.
Our last piece of advice? If you're worried or afraid, don't do it alone. Grab a friend and sing together, there are plenty of fantastic songs to sing with others. If all else fails there is plenty of Hindi karaoke music! And if you do the choreographed Bollywood dance moves, no one will notice if you're tone deaf.
