Tuscany Tours - Enjoy a Tour of Tuscany Italy
There are so many wonderful, incredible places to visit if you plan on taking a vacation in Italy. But although there are many sights to enjoy, let's focus on the Tuscany tours of Italy. Do you appreciate beautiful architecture? You'll never see better examples than in Tuscany. The most lovely, exquisite, picturesque architecture in the world is all in Tuscany.
There are six places in Tuscany that are UNESCO protected sites. What does that mean? That these places are protected by the international World Heritage Program. Recognized as places for outstanding culture, they are protected. Consider that there are just 851 sites in the entire world that are protected. When you go on your Tuscany tours vacation, you can enjoy 6 of them.
Some of the sites that are protected are the centers in Florence, Siena, Penza and San Gimignano. Also are the Val d'Orcia and the square of the Cathedral of Pisa, which is also known as the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
In Siena there is the Duomo cathedral, which represents the great Italian Romanesque culture. Another impressive example of architecture can be viewed in Florence: Santa Maria del Flore. This is a must-see. The Ponche Vencho Bridge is an amazingly old bridge, another jewel of Florence. Held up by stilts, the old bridge also has shops built along the edge.
Then there is a small town on top of a hill known as San Gimignano. Renowned for its medieval architecture, the town is walled and has 14 towers that you can see from miles away.
These magnificent towers have stories to tell indeed. They have withstood wars and major disasters. Yet here they still stand, beautiful works of art, which you can see for yourself on your Tuscany tours. Then there is Val d'Orcia, protected for its quaint little villages and the beautiful rolling hills. You shouldn't leave Italy without visiting this place once.
It is mainly because of their magnificent architecture that these cities are protected. You can take in all the beauty and history of these sites when you go on one of your Tuscany tours.
