' How to get back together' VS. 'How to get over an ex'
Where ever we go we see love. Sometimes it seems that the only problem in this world is love. Every 3rd T.V channel will have something on, that discusses romance. There will always be another Dr.Phil giving a good relationship advice or another desperate house wife cheating on her husband before the big breakup. Books are no different. The romantic section is probably one of the biggest ones and titles like how to get your ex back are readily available. Entertainment publications, talk about about celebrities. Almost all of those people became famous after taking part in a romantic film.
We are clearly obsessed by the subject and everything that's related to it.
Some people might see it as something negative. I personally think it's great. I actually think that some industrialized countries should concentrate more on love. These countries see a diminishing population. In many of those countries people think more about their work and how they will succeed in life. While in reality success is often a matter of having a good family. Media praises money and riches and pays less attention to love. It's not to say that there are no 'love' shows in those countries. Alas, they show scenes of drama and tragedy, we don't see enough family happiness and unity. They show cheating adventures of a husband as if it was the norm. Why not show a faithful husband that comes home to spend time with his kids. Same goes for books that give you the latest advice on how to dump someone or how to get over being dumped. May be we should see more titles that give advice on how to get your ex boyfriend back. Books that make you fight for your love and not give up should be more prevalent. When was the last time you saw a best seller like that?
In certain parts of the country 1 out of 3 couples divorces after a mere 2 years of marriage. This is too much. It is almost as if people give up too easily on their current relationships. What happened to 'till death do us apart'? If the wife is cheating it does not mean the husband needs to breakup right away. What caused this infidelity? May be it was caused by a grave mistake on the part of the husband? Could it be a minor change in the way the couple communicated? In many instances it is a small difference that makes a big change. They say that number one reason that makes wives leave is the lack of appreciation.
So let's appreciate each other more. Let's look beyond things that differentiate us and concentrate on things that unite us. Let's be understanding and patient towards one another. Let's choose love instead of hate. Because life is too short to carry around the extra luggage of hate.
