Swing Dancing

"It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing" That lyric by Irving Mills and Duke Ellington describes perfectly the American approach to music.  Our music, be it blues, jazz, rock or country, is mostly based on a bouncy rhythm known as swing. Therefore, the dance of the same name is a must for anyone looking to dance in just about any corner of the USA. You know it when you see it because it's been on televsion and movies your entire life. Guys turning the gals, the rhythmic bounce, the lift from hip to hip than up in the air, the slide through the legs, its our dance to our music. It all starts with some easy basic steps and you'll soon agree, it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!
